3-Ingredient Protein Ice Cream (280 Calories & 30g Protein!) – Ninja Creami + Blender Options
This blog is based on a video from my YouTube channel. If you prefer to watch that, click here.
If you're on a weight loss journey, navigating fat loss, or simply craving something sweet that won’t throw off your goals — this protein ice cream might just change your life.
As a health and nutrition coach, I eat this almost every single day. Why? Because it’s delicious, satisfying, and aligns beautifully with a sustainable, high-protein diet. And the best part? You only need 3 main ingredients, it clocks in at around 280 calories, and it delivers a solid 30 grams of protein per serving. Whether you're using a Ninja Creami or just a blender, this recipe is super easy to make and endlessly customizable.
Why Protein Ice Cream Works for Weight Loss
This recipe is what we call a high-volume, low-calorie food—meaning it makes you feel like you’re eating more, without a huge calorie hit. Add in a solid dose of protein and a little bit of healthy fat, and you’ve got a dessert that keeps you fuller, longer.
Protein also helps with cravings, muscle repair, and blood sugar stability—making this a smart option whether you’re in a cutting phase, maintaining, or just trying to hit your macros while living your life.
Ingredients You’ll Need (Base Recipe)
🥥 1. Coconut Milk (1½ cups)
Look for an unsweetened coconut milk that’s not completely stripped of fat. I use Califia Organic Coconut Milk, which gives about 8g of fat per serving—key for that creamy mouthfeel. You could also use cashew milk if tolerated, but coconut milk tends to be gentler for those with sensitive digestion.
💪 2. Protein Powder (30g)
I love using the Vanilla Whey Isolate from Prozis. Not only does it blend well for creamy textures, it also includes a bit of creatine (bonus!). This packs around 110 calories and 29–30g of protein.
🍮 3. Sugar-Free Pudding Mix (1 tbsp / 10g)
Don’t skip this! This ingredient acts like a thickener to prevent ice crystals and gives that perfect ice cream texture. Pick a flavor you like (I love pistachio!) and you’re adding only ~30 calories.
That’s it! Those three simple ingredients give you a protein-rich, creamy, low-calorie ice cream you’ll actually want to eat.
Optional Add-Ins to Level It Up
Want to get creative or make it feel extra indulgent? Here are some of my favorite Prozis-sponsored add-ins that take this ice cream from great to gourmet:
🍫 Prozis Protein Granola – adds crunch + 6g extra protein
🍘 Protein Crispies – light, airy, satisfying texture
🥜 Choco Protein Crisp Peanut Butter – my fave topping! Made with 94% premium Argentinian peanuts and protein cocoa crispies

Bonus Flavor Boosts
To tweak the flavor and texture even more, try these:
20g sugar-free vanilla or maple syrup
15g whey + 15g casein for next-level creaminess
A pinch of salt (seriously—it brings out the flavors!)
How to Make It: Two Easy Options
🎛 Option 1: Ninja Creami Method
Mix all ingredients until smooth using a frother or immersion blender.
Pour into a Ninja Creami pint and freeze for at least 8–12 hours (I freeze with the lid off to avoid the dome effect).
Use the Lite Ice Cream setting.
If it’s crumbly, scrape the sides, add 1–2 tsp of coconut milk, and respin.
Repeat until smooth and creamy!
🥄 Option 2: No Ice Cream Maker?
Pour the mixture into ice cube trays and freeze for 4–6 hours.
Add frozen cubes to a high-speed blender with a splash of milk.
Blend until smooth!

Why It Works (The Nutrition Coach POV)
This protein ice cream hits the holy grail of satisfying snacks:
Protein: helps with satiety, cravings, and recovery
Volume: feels like more food than it is
Fat: adds that creamy, satisfying texture
Simplicity: sustainable nutrition only works if it’s doable—and this is!
It’s a treat that actually supports your goals, not derails them.
Final Thoughts
This recipe is proof that healthy, high-protein eating doesn’t have to be boring or restrictive. With just a few ingredients, you get a satisfying dessert that fits perfectly into any fat loss or maintenance plan.
