Four Ways To Use Overripe Bananas

Bananas are a very common household staple, and for good reason! They're tasty and great for you! Bananas are an excellent source of many vitamins and minerals and offer a handful of health benefits for your heart, digestion, and energy levels. They're also cheap and readily available. 🍌🍌🍌

Because of their popularity and accessibility, many people are familiar with having too many bananas getting overripe before you can find time to eat them. It happens to all of us. I'm sure many of you have stockpiles of frozen overripe bananas in your freezer right now that you've been holding onto to use in the future but never really getting around to it. Guilty! 🀷

Well consider this your sign to transform those sad freezer bananas into a delicious healthy meal or treat! Here's four ways of using overripe bananas that I love. 😍

1. Pancakes and muffins. See my previously posted healthy pancake recipe that uses bananas, its delicious. Alternatively you can bake some nutritious hearty muffins that use bananas as a main ingredient. The internet is full of fantastic recipes for these! πŸ₯ž

2. Smoothies. A quick and easy way to get a nice serving of fruits and veggies is by blending them up into a smoothie. Bananas are excellent additions to any smoothie as they add plenty of sweetness and give them a nice smooth texture. Adding the banana frozen is a great way to make your smoothie nice and cold without having to water it down with ice. πŸŒπŸ“πŸŠπŸ‘πŸ

3. Oatmeal. If plain old oats is boring to you, try mixing in an overripe banana. It acts as a natural sweetener to bring those oats to the next level without plopping any extra sugar on top, plus it adds extra fiber, vitamins, and minerals! Sugar won't do that.πŸ₯£

4. Froyo/nicecream. Try blending chunks of frozen bananas up by themselves. When done long enough, it becomes the consistency of soft serve ice cream or frozen yogurt. You can even add yogurt for the added nutrition and flavor. Frozen bananas, a scoop of peanut butter, and some cocoa powder makes "nicecream" so delicious you'll wonder why you hadn't tried it sooner. Like a smoothie, the options of ingredients are endless! Have fun experimenting with new flavors. πŸ¨πŸ˜„
